From CPA to Salesman
Out of college Tony became a Certified Public Accountant, CPA working for a large international accounting firm. He worked his way up the corporate ladder before he became self-employed as an ERP Solution Architect.
Tony was increasingly exposed to Salesforce.com with customers asking to integrate ERP and CRM. He discovered that Salesforce was a platform that could be molded to fit a company’s unique business process for sales. He fell in love with the idea of adapting this open mindset to the back-office.
This vision became Accounting Seed.
In 2008, Tony started Accounting Seed, creating a robust accounting system built on top of Salesforce.com with the same flexible, fast, and efficient functionality as the core platform. By 2021, Accounting Seed had made the Inc 5000 and grew to over 1,000 customers and 15,000 users. It was a fantastic success.
From Entrepreneur to Author
In building Accounting Seed Tony felt like he had a formula for success that could be applied to more than just business and wasn’t well known nor had been written about. So in 2020 he decided to partner with Forbes Book to write a book about it. Out came Iconoclasm in 2021. The book got great reviews and became an Amazon #1 seller in multiple categories. In early 2022 Tony decided to sell his business and become a full time author.
A quest to understand washington
For years, Tony had wondered why Washington was such a mess, but wanted to hear the truth from another ordinary citizen. Not a person or an organization trying to advance their place in Washington. But he couldn't find such a person or a book. So he decided to go find out first hand what was wrong and write a book about it. He dove straight in: researching our history, participating in round tables, webinars, interviewing politicians, lawyers, lots of lawyers, lobbyists, and journalists.
He even ran for President, as an independent to see first hand what it was like to be a part of the system. He wasn’t taken very seriously. He did get his Mom to donate $100 to his campaign though.
Out Came Congressman Curly
What Tony found in researching Washington from the perspective of a citizen was utterly ridiculous. He felt it was naturally comedic and he just needed to label some of the actors with names. So he paused writing the book and decided to write music and a comedy show instead. He felt a book just wouldn't do this insanity justice. So out came Congressman Curly’s Rockin’ Comedy Show.
It combines stand up comedy, music, storytelling and sketches to profile the life and times of Congressman Curly. A self-serving, corrupt career politician. The show is medicine through laughter for any person feeling frustrated, disgusted and disempowered by our dysfunctional and divided government. In a super fun way, it reveals how ridiculous things have become in Washington, specifically in the last 20 years. And who alongside Curly is reaping big rewards.
It also gives insight into the concept of unity. What that really means politically and how it might be achieved. The show is fast paced, high energy with a ton of laughs.
